Mr. Wittenberg received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo in 1968 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Toledo in 1972. He practices primarily in the areas of estate planning and probate.
Mr. Wittenberg is licensed in Ohio and Michigan.
He is a member of the American, Ohio, Michigan, Lucas County and Toledo Bar Associations. He serves on the Probate and Trust Committees of the American, Ohio and Toledo Bar Associations. He is a past Chairman of the Toledo Bar Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Committee.
He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America book since 1995 and has been listed in the Ohio Super Lawyers magazine as one of Ohio’s super lawyers in the practice of estate planning and trusts.
Mr. Wittenberg served on the Certified Grievance Committee of the Toledo Bar Association from June of 1988 until June of 1998. He has served as secretary and chairman of the Grievance Committee.
In 1999 he was appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court to a three year term to the Board of Commissioners for Grievances and Discipline of the Ohio Supreme Court. He was reappointed in December of 2001 to an additional three year term. In 2006, the Ohio Supreme Court appointed him to an additional three year term which ends in December of 2009.
Mr. Wittenberg has taught legal ethics, probate and estate planning at the University of Toledo.
He has spoken for the Lucas County Bar Luncheon series, presented seminars for the Toledo Bar Association, the Ohio CLE Institute, the University of Toledo and Professional Education Systems on the subjects of estate planning and legal ethics.
